Randomly Generated Hills – The Projects

Kicking off the new year with a new tutorial series: The Projects!

In the first of these monthly tutorials, I’ll show you how to make randomly generated hills and peaks using the graphics object inside the Sprite class. The final section of the video smoothes the hills off by using the BezierSegment class to interpolate between the peaks and troughs. Enjoy!

As a first for my tutorials, I’ve provided the source and an example of it in use.

I’ve tried to put a bit more effort into a smaller tutorial this time, hopefully the result is better than any 1 video from the Point, Click, Win! series and is easier to jump into and follow along. Excuse the hideous attempt at making music and the less than spectacular video editing – I’m learning too ;)
